Final Seafront Sunday of Summer 2018

Sunday 02 September 2018

Parents, babies and toddlers will be able to get targeted nutrition advice during the final Seafront Sunday of 2018.

The St Peter Port sea front is closed today for the event, with Taste Guernsey organising a number of demonstrations.

Among those attractions will be a stall manned by Maternity and Paediatric staff who have joined forces with Public Health, Health Promotion, Dieticians and Health visitors to speak with members of the public at this weekend’s Seafront Sunday.

They said, "not only will staff be there to promote nutrition during pregnancy and beyond for mums, their babies and toddlers, they will also be providing information which is focussed on personalised services for pregnant women and their families."

Elaine Torrance, Divisional Manager for Maternity & Children’s Services said they are hoping to be able to speak to lots of people.

"Seafront Sunday is such a popular event in Guernsey it is the perfect opportunity for us to help raise awareness of our range of maternity and children’s services and to promote our vision for healthcare that meets the needs of pregnant women and supports them and their families to become great parents."

Seats will be available at the stand which will also be available for any mothers who will be looking for an area to sit and feed their baby.

Among the other stalls will be some children's activities and the Free From stall selling gluten free goods and other items.
