Final drop-in ahead of Town regeneration framework

Tuesday 08 June 2021

A draft development framework to revitalise run-down areas around Town is reaching the end of its consultation phase - and people are being encouraged to take part in the final idea-gathering event.

A public drop-in session is taking place on Saturday 12 June for the St Peter Port Regeneration Areas before the consultation period ends on Tuesday 15 June.

The draft development framework identifies "under-utilised" areas such as the Bus Terminus, North Plantation and Taxi Rank as the keys to unlocking Town's potential. The three Regeneration Areas comprise the Lower Pollet, South Esplanade and Mignot Plateau, and Mansell Street/Le Bordage.

The outline proposals remain on display at St Peter Port Douzaine until 15 June.

My Committee and officers of the Planning Service have worked hard to encourage islanders to come along and find out more about this draft Development Framework," said Development & Planning Authority President Victoria Oliver.

We have been really pleased with the amount of engagement so far, but would like to welcome anyone who has not yet submitted their views to take the opportunity to do so before the consultation closes next week.

“Once this consultation concludes, the combined draft Development Framework for the three areas will be finalised and, if approved by the Committee, the Development Framework will then become Supplementary Planning Guidance."

For anyone not able to attend the drop-in event, information about this draft Development Framework and how to submit comments can be found HERE.

The consultation period began on 5 May 2021 and is open for 6 weeks until 15 June 2021.
