Dora found this morning and returns home "safe and sound"

Monday 24 January 2022

An anxious dog has been found after going missing for more than a week and the GSPCA says she is back at home and "safe and sound".

Dora managed to escape her owners near Amherst Primary School earlier this month.

Over the following week, she was spotted near St. Pierre Park Hotel, in Footes Lande, near the animal shelter in St Andrew's and in Talbot Valley.

She was rescued early this morning around Chouet in the Vale.

There were many offers of help to find Dora. And concerned members of the public were walking the areas where she had been spotted in an effort to find her.

However, the GSPCA had asked people to leave the search and rescue mission to them.

Dora was known to be a timid dog and the GSPCA deployed special techniques to try and coax Dora out of any hiding places.

Sightings indicated that she had shed her special 'anxiety coat' which she was wearing when she went missing.

The GSPCA said it would later issue further information about Dora's wellbeing.
