"Chief Minister Lyndon Rott" has taken over the X account of former Deputy Neil Rinder describing himself as "Chief Minister of Guernsey, Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist".
The somewhat satirical account was originally launched on Twitter after Deputy Neil Inder closed his personal account which he had for a long time using the handle @tothevale reflecting his passionate patriotism for his home parish.
When Deputy Inder stepped away from using Twitter (now X) the account handle was swiftly repurposed by Deputy Neil Rinder with a photo of television's Judge Rinder as the profile picture.
Mr Rinder was asked if he was behind the account while he was on a visit to Guernsey to host Specsaver's Liberation Day events earlier this year and he confirmed that he was not.

Yesterday, as Guernsey's Policy and Resources Committee was ousted from the top table ramifications were felt far and wide, including online.
With Deputy Lyndon Trott one of four nominees for the vacant post of President of P&R, Deputy Rinder was quickly trying to come up with a new cover story for their true identity....
On Deputy Trott's election as President of P&R the following was posted to X.
As my real self has just been appointed as the new President of Policy and Resources I no longer think it is appropriate for me to carry on my work as Deputy Rinder.

It’s been a pleasure.
The #chog (Common House People of Guernsey...) quickly implored the anonymous poster to stay with some still trying to figure out who might really be behind the account.
Clearly enjoying their time in the spotlight, the anonymous account instead rebranded as 'Chief Minister Lyndon Rott', still using the same handle of @tothevale.
Despite the appearances of being busy in the States meeting proposing his nominations for the four other positions on P&R this morning, Chief Minister Rott has also been busy on X too.
Now posting under the pseudonym Rott, with a smiling picture of Deputy Trott himself, it remains to be seen whether @tothevale will continue poking fun at Deputy Trott as frequently and pointedly as it has in the past....
