The former Treasury Lead in Guernsey’s top Committee has decided to get behind the mic at a local radio station after finding his diary a little emptier.
After a motion of no confidence was lodged against the former Policy and Resources Committee, helmed by Deputy Peter Ferbrache, Deputy Mark Helyar decided to hand in his notice before the vote.
The politician now moves to the back benches and has been announced as a new presenter on Riduna Radio, a station based in Alderney.
In a post online Riduna Radio said: “Mark has always expressed his keen interest in broadcasting and now with a little more time on his hands, he is going to be giving it a go.”
Mark’s first show will be this coming Thursday (21 December) where he’ll be taking over the breakfast show with his son.
