Condor ups its charity donation game

Condor Ferries has increased the amount of cash it will roll out to charities and projects for 2024, with environmental initiatives the focus.

Applications are now open for its community grants, with the pot increased by £10,000 to £30,000 for this year.

Organisations that can apply include community groups, unincorporated associations, cooperatives, schools, social enterprises, individuals and amateur sports clubs

Each one will be judged on sustainability, benefit locally, enjoyment for others and how the work will continue after completion.

Last year a skating club benefitted from new skates and a farm got a new poly tunnel to teach children seed sowing.

Justin Amey, Condor’s Head of Sales and Marketing, said: “!This is the fifth time we have run the fund and judging by the applications received in previous years, there are some great examples of community projects and initiatives being undertaken.

“We are happy to hear from individuals and groups from all the islands. Many give up their time for community activities and we would like to support their efforts in making a real difference, not just now but into the future.”

Successful applicants will be notified in mid-July.
