Today's Channel Islands' Pride will see thousands of people marching from Candie Gardens to Market Square to celebrate equality here, while calling for equality elsewhere too.
There will be a 70s theme to the events, as 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the UK's first Pride event, which was held in London in 1972.
Since then, huge strides have been made in legalising homosexual relationships, equalising the age of consent and enabling people to live their lives as they wish.
As Liberate Trustee Simon Naftel explained, not everywhere in the world is as liberated as Guernsey is, and some people across the Channel Islands may still feel like they can't live authentically.
Today's Pride events will be focused at Candie Gardens for the early part of the afternoon, before moving to Market Square where festivities will continue into the evening.
From 21:00 onwards, there will be an exclusive Pride After Party, with a pool party to follow tomorrow, before a cult-classic movie night, and a business networking event to encourage LGBTQ+ policies are held next week.
