Today is the last chance to get any mail sent to serving members of the British Armed Forces before Christmas, with other 'last posting dates' also approaching.
Mail from the Bailiwick to Operational British Forces goes via British Forces Airmail so for Christmas cards to reach loved ones they must be in local post boxes today.
International airmail heading to Africa or the Middle East should be posted by Monday 3 December, with Thursday 6 December the postal deadline for gifts and cards heading to Cyprus, Malta, Asia, Far East (including Japan), Eastern Europe (except Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia).
Mail heading to the USA, Canada, South and Central America and the Caribbean should be posted by Friday 7 December along with post heading to Greece, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand.

From Saturday 1 December local post can be sent using the reduced rate Christmas stamps. This year they are 41p each and are for sending mail within the Bailiwick only.
