Guernsey's Medical Specialist Group has appointed a new Consultant Paediatrician to work with the island's children.
Dr Rebecca Cordingley MBBS BSc (Hons) MRCPCH has already started work in the island, having joined the Group last month from her previous role at North Devon District Hospital.
She trained at Guy's, Kings and St Thomas' Medical School in London where she also obtained a BSc (Hons) in Human Physiology and she has also worked in New Zealand and throughout the UK including training at Derriford Hospital Neonatal Unit where she gained valuable experience as part of their transport team.
This was followed by further training at The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children working in Paediatric Intensive Care, Nephrology, Endocrine and Gastroenterology. Dr Cordingley completed Paediatric training in 2016 and has been a Consultant at North Devon District Hospital for three years where she was the Lead for Paediatric Renal and Gastroenterology, and she was also actively involved with the Paediatric Diabetes Service.
Having already moved to the island with her husband and two children, she has said she is interested in natural history and walking, as well as playing the violin and she is looking forward to settling in to Guernsey life while building close links with the local community.
