Sunday 13 October 2024

Digi-Fest will kick off a week-long festival of events at Guille Alles Library, including talks on data protection and computer programming, and workshops about keeping children safe online.

A whole host of other events are on offer during the festival, which is tying in with the national ‘Get Online Week’ which is a UK wide digital inclusion campaign.

The entire roster of events is available on the Library’s website, and you can learn all about 'Get Online Week' on The Good Things Foundation website.

Abi Paine, the Library’s Marketing & Communications Officer, said: “There’s something for everyone at DigiFest. With the help of our partners Guernsey Police and the Office of the Data Protection Authority, we’re pleased to offer a really exciting programme of events touching on some of the challenges people face online

“We’re inviting the whole community to come along and learn something new, get expert advice, and find out how to make the most of your time online.”

The first event taking place is an eBooks Drop-in, on Monday (14 October), from 10:00 till 11:00, and from 16:00 - 17:00.

The Fab Lab Open Afternoon will be running from 15:00 until 17:00.
