CEO of Herm resigns

Wednesday 17 April 2024

Craig Senior has decided to step down from his role as CEO of Herm Island.

“After nearly seven years leading the talented and dedicated Herm team, for whom I have nothing but the highest levels of respect, I would like to offer my huge debt of thanks and gratitude to all my colleagues who have inspired me with their achievements and shared so many moments that will be forever treasured,” he said.

“I am especially thankful for the mentorship from colleagues, returning guests, the local Bailiwick of Guernsey community, and of course from Herm’s Chairman, John Singer.

“After careful thought and consideration, I have come to the conclusion that the time is right for me to move on from this paradise island and pursue new challenges and opportunities and, more importantly, as our children reach secondary school age, to provide them with easy access to a local secondary school, without the necessity of a daily, often weather affected ferry commute.

“I am so proud of the achievements we have made as a family, and the huge benefits to our daughters having enjoyed most of their primary school years at the incredible little Herm School, growing up on this unique island. We will certainly look back on our years in Herm with sincere gratitude, love, and respect.”

John Singer, who is the island’s leaseholder said: "The entire Herm team, and I personally, would like to thank Craig for his unswerving commitment to the island during his tenure as CEO and wish him and his family every success for the future.”
