Luckily, curiosity didn't kill the cat, as Guernsey Fire & Rescue leapt into action yesterday evening, to rescue a frightened feline which found itself stuck under a road, in a drain.
The GSPCA initially went along to help but, with rain forecast to be on the way, thought it best to call in the rescue experts.
The cat was safely lifted from the drain in St Martins and reunited with its owner, before being checked over at the vets.
The GSPCA is open 24 hours a day to keep local pets and wildlife safe, and similar emergencies can be reported any time by calling 256261.
