Casualty taken to hospital after sea wall fall

Monday 19 July 2021

A man was transferred to the Emergency Department in the early hours of Sunday morning after falling from a sea wall.

A double crewed paramedic ambulance was dispatched to Belle Greve Bay at around 02:30 following calls to the emergency services.

A spokesman for St John said: "The patient was assessed by the ambulance crew, who requested assistance from Guernsey Fire & Rescue Service to help with the extrication of the casualty from the beach.

"A basket stretcher and the fire service turntable ladder were used to safely transfer the patient from the rocky foreshore to road level.

"They were then taken by ambulance to the Emergency Department of the Princess Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment and treatment."

No information has been provided on the person's condition at this time.
