Changes in store for bus timetable

Tuesday 31 December 2019

2020 will see a few changes to the Guernsey bus timetable, with the introduction of some extra services and a price rise on the late night buses.

The updated timetable will come into effect on Monday.

It will see a five pence increase on Pay As You Go journeys - up to 65p - and a 50p hike on the Nightowl service, taking it up to £3.

The timetable will include two extra services for the Route 71, which will depart from the Town Terminus at 08:15 and - during term-time - from Route des Bas Courtils at 16:10.

Additional 'off peak' Route 71 summer services will leave from the Town Terminus at 09:35, 10:35, 11:35, 12:35 and 13:35 from Monday to Saturday between 13 April and 10 October to meet demand for those visiting the Little Chapel.

Meanwhile, there will be a reduction in 'off peak' winter services on the Route 81 from Monday to Saturday. As a result, the 09:50, 10:50, 11:50, 12:50, 13:50 and 14:50 services from the Town Terminus will end between 6 January and 11 April.

There will be some minor timing changes on Routes 11, 12, 13, 21, 51, 52, 60, 61, 71, 81, 91, 92, 93 and 94, but none of the Town Terminus departure times will be changed.

As in 2019, all passengers using the 91 and 92 as an 'island tour' will have to pay £5 for a day pass, while the Guernsey Explorer will once again operate next summer for tourists.

Extra late summer evening services will operate from the Town Terminus between 11 April and 12 October:

  • Route 11 - Sundays at 19:30
  • Route 21 - Monday to Saturday at 20:20
  • Route 32 - Monday and Saturday at 20:35
  • Route 81 - Saturdays at 20:50 and Sundays at 19:20
  • Route 91 - Monday to Saturday at 19:05
  • Route 92- Monday to Saturday at 19:35

Regular bus users are advised to regularly review the timetable to check whether any chance have been made to the frequency of their service.

The timetable is available online here.
