Team Guernsey are involved in four different sports during day one of competition at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
The island's bowlers, boxer, swimmers and triathlete were all scheduled to compete today as the event gets started properly, following yesterday's opening ceremony.
The team, in Australia, said they were greeted with a "roar of noise" as they entered the Carrara Stadium for the launched of the 21st Commonwealth Games.
Team Guernsey were one of 71 competing nations parading around the stadium with a 35,000 strong crowd cheering on the more than 4,500 athletes and officials. The Sarnians were led out by Brisbane '82 silver medalist Matthew Guille who is competing in the shooting again this year. It is estimated that 1.5 billion viewers watched on television worldwide.
With Prince Charles declaring the Games open, on behalf of Her Majesty, the Queen, the sporting events were shortly to get started.
First up for Team Guernsey, at 00:00 was the women's singles in the Bowls with Lucy Beere facing Laura Daniels of Wales, before Beere also took on Rachel McDonald of Jersey at 03:00.
At 10:00 our time this morning, Guernsey was due to face Canada in the men's pairs.
In the boxing, Alderney's Billy Le Poullain was due to step into the ring at 04:32 to fight Gul Zaib of Pakistan.
In the swimming pool, Miles Munro was competing on the men's 50m butterfly at 02:27 while Tom Hollingsworth was swimming in the man's 100m backstroke at 02:54.
Josh Lewis was due to start his triathlon competition at 04:00 BST.
