The owners of the Bella Luce Hotel have asked for planning permission to alter their designs as they continue work to redevelop the site as a new boutique hotel.
Bought by Green Giant Ltd in 2022, the former hotel closed and was subsequently almost entirely demolished.
The front wall of the previous building is all that remains - as this part of the structure is listed. The former longhouse is reported to have dated back to the 17th century.
That part of the site will be central to the new hotel when work is finally complete - with early designs showing that the plans included a thatched roof being added too.
The new hotel was planned to have just 14 bedrooms - fitting the description of it being a 'boutique hotel'.
The site has already been extended with the purchase and demolition of a neighbouring house.
Green Giant had previously been given permission to build a new wellness centre and staff accommodation along with the new hotel.
Now, the owners have asked to alter the designs slightly - but they remain in line with what was previously approved.
Other changes to the site already approved include the temporary widening of the vehicle access ways, and the removal of a chestnut tree, to enable the works to be carried out.
