Author chooses Alderney for book launch

Wednesday 17 April 2024

A popular historical fiction author has chosen to launch his latest book in Alderney, after being unable to make the Alderney Literary Festival.

Conn Iggulden will be going to Alderney on 1 June as part of the book tour for 'Nero'.

Mr Iggulden is a former English teacher and has written several books on historical figures and events, including Julius Caesar, Genghis Khan, and the War of the Roses.

“I've been a fan of Conn’s since before he became famous," said Alderney Literary Festival Founder, Isabel Picornell.

"I've asked him to come to the festival several times but he's never been able to make the date. He couldn't make it for this year’s festival either but suggested a date to coincide with the book launch. We’re delighted he’s coming here which demonstrates the recognition the Alderney Literary Festival now has.”

Mr Iggulden will be speaking at the Georgian House orangery on 1 June.
