A planning application has been submitted to convert Round Top Stores into a seasonal al fresco restaurant.
The site had been identified for regeneration as part of wider seafront enhancement plan.
A change of use is being sought for the building which currently houses fishing equipment.
The application states that a catering unit, fencing, generator, outdoor furniture, a wheelchair accessible toilet, and planters would be installed.
A bar within a portable container has also been applied for.
As there are no mains services on the pier, water and waste will need to be brought and removed each day, with electricity provided via the proposed generator.
It’s proposed that the restaurant opens between April to September between 07:00 and 23:00.
A separate application for flags and signage will follow.
The application – FULL/2023/0777 - has been submitted by Mr and Mrs Blondin.
