A number of Asian hornets have reportedly been spotted in a new location in Guernsey.
Members of an Asian hornet spotting group said two were caught yesterday between the Castel parish church and Fairfield.
Previously, the insects; which are known to pose a threat to wildlife and indigenous plants in the Bailiwick, have been spotted in Sark, near the Longfrie and in the Vale in Guernsey.
Advice issued previously by the States of Guernsey stated that any one who finds, or suspects they have found an Asian hornet should contact the Agriculture, Countryside and Land Management team on 234567.
