Repair work has been given the nod for the rotten and damaged Victorian glasshouse at Candie Gardens.
A planning application was submitted by Environment & Infrastructure in August 2023 after rotten timbers and collapsed roofs closed both the lower and upper greenhouses over the past five years.
The lack of care and attention given in that period to the 18th century structures led to the States having accusations of neglect left at its door by the public and politicians.
But now work can begin to replace rotten timbers and reinstate the roofs on the protected monument.
Maintenance and restoration of the site was last carried out between 2006 and 2008.
