Ronnie Cairnduff has been presented with the British Empire Medal by the Lieutenant-Governor for his services to Alderney.
Before moving to Alderney, Mr Cairnduff worked in the music industry for many years, using his experience to help Mencap stage its Gateway Talent Show. Mr Cairnduff ran Alderney Week for 11 years and helped develop it into the popular festival it is today.
“This is a very special occasion and I’m sure there are many lovers of Alderney Week throughout the Bailiwick and beyond who join with us in saluting Ronnie and his remarkable achievements,” said His Excellency Sir Ian Corder, who presented the award in Alderney last night.

Mr Cairnduff also helps raise funds for local causes as President of the Alderney Sailing Club.
