Acclaimed South African comedian to perform charity set in Guernsey tonight

Friday 25 October 2024

Schalk Bezuidenhout will take to the stage for the first time on island, with a set that should appeal to a wide audience.

It is taking place this evening at the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts, as part of a larger fundraising event for Autism Guernsey by The Guernsey Protea Society.

The non-profit organisation aim to support networking locally, and aim to raise funds at the same time.

Maree Wilms, the Chairman of the Guernsey Protea Society, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to host Schalk for his first performance in Guernsey. As we’ve seen with many of his global tours, his style of comedy is one that appeals to a broad audience.

“His ability to connect with people through humour makes this event special, and we are excited to offer something a bit different from our previous fundraisers.”

Schalk himself is looking forward to presenting on Guernsey soil, saying: “Comedy has this amazing ability to connect people, no matter where they’re from. I’m really looking forward to performing in Guernsey and having some fun with the crowd there. It’s going to be a great night.”

It takes place from 6pm.

Tickets can be bought via Guernsey Tickets.
