Guernsey needs another driver to operate the island's accessible taxi service.
One of the four taxi drivers who hold an ‘Accessible Taxi’ licence has surrendered theirs meaning there are only three drivers currently working who can take all passengers.
The licences are issued by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing team who now want to hear from anyone interesting in applying to take on the fourth licence.
Applicants would need to already have a Public Service Vehicle Permit, or be willing to immediately apply for one. The vehicle you'd use to operate the service will need to be fully wheelchair accessible and meet other strict criteria to meet mandatory specifications.
The applicant will also need to attend a half-day’s training course so they are able to safely and properly offer lifts to disabled passengers and others with additional needs.
