Guernsey Airport expects to be EGGS-tra busy this Easter weekend

Friday 07 April 2023

Guernsey Airport expects to be super busy this weekend as 7,200 passengers are expected to travel to and from the island for the long bank holiday weekend.

It is set to be one of the busiest periods of the year so far for the Airport, with thousands expected to pass through over the Easter break.

That figure is slightly down on last year, but 2022 had seen an immediate post-pandemic boost in the number of people travelling.

Steve Langlois, Head of Passenger Operations & Aviation Security said it will still be very busy this weekend.

“Although the numbers are slightly down this year, we will still have a lot of islanders making the most of the Easter break to enjoy a trip away,” he said.

As well as flights to various UK cities, which provide many onward destinations, and to the other Channel Islands for short breaks, our airline partners are also offering direct connections to popular European destinations.  So it will be a busy few daysand as always we ask anyone planning to travel to make sure they arrive in good time, and avoid having to rush as they pass through the terminal.

“We would also remind passengers travelling on early services to the UK operated by Aurigny that they can take advantage of twilight check-in, which is available daily between 3pm and 8pm for the next morning’s flights.”

Guernsey Ports said no flight disruptions are forecast at present, with the weather looking to be good with light winds, sunny skies and warmer temperatures.
