2025 election plans taking shape

Voters with 'accessibility requirements' are being asked for their views on the 2020 election to ensure the planned island wide vote next year is as accessible as it can be.

A survey on the accessibility of the 2020 General Election has launched today.

The Election Team says the survey will "inform 2025 General Election preparations" by asking islanders with accessibility requirements about their experiences of voting in 2020 which saw the first fully island wide election of deputies.

The results of the survey will help the team consider any changes needed to make the voting process more accessible when the island next goes to the polls, which is likely to be in June next year for the 2025 General Election.

Colette Falla is the Registrar-General of Electors.

“We are very interested in learning from people who may need support or adjustments to enable them to participate in the next General Election, particularly regarding any challenges they faced with the ballot paper, polling stations, and postal voting during the 2020 General Election," she said.

"It’s really important that we gather this information to inform our preparations, with a view to making the next elections as accessible as possible for everyone.”

The survey can be accessed online HERE with paper copies available to be collected from the receptions of Sir Charles Frossard House and Edward T Wheadon House.

You can also request a paper copy by calling or emailing Chloe Divers on 223411 or chloe.divers@gov.gg.

The survey will close on 13 May.
