'2-school' Q&A tonight

Wednesday 05 December 2018

The latest meeting in the current phase of public engagement exercises ahead of the changes to secondary education in Guernsey is being held tonight, with parents and carers invited to ask any questions they may have about the planned changes.

A 'public drop-in' session is being held at Les Beaucamps High School tonight between 18:00 and 20:00.

Members of the political Committee for Education, Sport & Culture will be there, along with other 'educationalists'.

ESC said the drop in is "primarily aimed at parents and carers", but anyone is welcome to attend.

While this is the last in the recent short series of public drop-in sessions before the end of this year, other 'engagement' plans are being put together for the new year.

Anyone can also contact the ESC office by email at educationfuture@gov.gg or by phone on 733084with any queries or concerns about the planned changes.

Les Beaucamps High School and St Sampson's High School have been chosen as the two sites to be extended under the new so-called 'two-school' model of secondary education.

It will actually be one school over two campuses and ESC needs States permission to spend millions of pounds on its development plans.

So far, the plans are all uncosted.
