Two members of staff from Rossborough in Jersey have passed their Diploma in Insurance (CII) qualification while one team member from the Isle of Man has achieved his Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII).
Richard Hulme, commercial broking manager at Rossborough in the Isle of Man, has been awarded the Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII). ‘Richard is a talented and committed insurance professional with a drive to succeed. The Advanced Diploma is a rigorous test of both the technical and practical application of insurance skills and I’m delighted that Richard has achieved this status,’ said Tim Rattray, managing director at Rossborough in the Isle of Man.
Mr Hulme said he is delighted to have secured the coveted status: ‘The Advanced Diploma sets a high standard of competence and integrity and I’m proud to have reached this level of professionalism within the industry. I have been at Rossborough for three years and am grateful to them for supporting and encouraging me to develop my skills further.’
Mr Hulme started his career in the finance sector, working at the Isle of Man Bank and Zurich Financial Services in a number of roles, including lending, servicing and project management. He moved to Rossborough is 2011 and holds the position of educational secretary at the local Chartered Insurance Institute – coordinating exam workshops and CPD events in the island. Mr Hulme is a keen motorsports enthusiast, competing in rallying and off-road endurance events. He also likes cycling and playing golf in his spare time.
In addition to Mr Hulme’s accomplishment, two members of staff from Jersey, Edwena McEnteggart and Tracey Forbes, have also achieved success by passing the Diploma in Insurance (CII) qualification. This qualification provides a core understanding of the principles of insurance practices across all sectors of the industry and enhances professional and personal development in line with regulatory requirements.
Clive De La Cour, managing director of Rossborough in Jersey, said: ‘At Rossborough, we recognise the importance of our people and that’s why we have a thorough professional development scheme in place to make sure every team member receives the appropriate training and is entered for relevant exams. I congratulate Edwena and Tracey for the outstanding levels of commitment and professionalism required to complete this qualification. As Jersey’s only Chartered Insurance Broker, professionalism, training and qualifications are at the heart of our ability to deliver high standards of service to our clients.’
Originally from Ireland, Miss McEnteggart studied for a degree in Business Management at Dundalk Institute of Technology before moving to Jersey in 2007. She has been working at Rossborough since March 2008 as personal assistant to Clive De La Cour and has recently began supporting the commercial team in the role of commercial insurance broker. Her hobbies include travelling, fitness training and reading.
Mrs Forbes has been a commercial account administrator at Rossborough since moving to Jersey in 1993. She has held positions at a number of global insurance firms, including Aviva and Aon and is currently involved with the handling of insurance arrangements for large global clients.
