Law firm Mourant Ozannes has announced that it will be supporting the 2017 Wheelchair Basketball Challenge, hosted by the Jersey Sports Association for the Disabled (JSAD).
The Challenge, in which the Jersey Wheeler's take on able bodied teams who also compete in wheelchairs, has been taking place since 1991 and is to raise awareness of sporting events for those with disabilities in a fun way.
JSAD Chairman, Paul Patterson, said: "Mourant Ozannes' involvement in supporting this year's event is fantastic. Without this type of support, smaller organisations like ours simply wouldn’t be able to run these events, raising awareness and bringing sports to anyone with a disability."
The Wheelchair Basketball Challenge traditionally attracts team members from various companies in Jersey including HSBC, JEC and RBC. It takes place between April and November 2017 and comprises a round-robin league and a knock out competition.
Jonathan Speck, Managing Partner of Mourant Ozannes in Jersey added: "This is a really important sporting event and one that we are proud to be supporting. The ideas behind the Challenge very much reflect our values as a firm which are about mutual respect, enabling people to excel and acting as one team. We wish all the teams the best of luck and look forward to hearing the results of the final knock out!"
Mourant Ozannes will also be entering their own team in the challenge this year.
