Sure customers will soon be able to access Jersey’s fibre network following the reaching of an agreement between Sure and JT that finalises the commercial arrangements for access to the network.

The agreement means that JT has gone some way to fulfilling the second condition of the eight that were set out in the States of Jersey’s funding arrangements for the network, as agreed by the Treasury Minister, Senator Philip Ozouf.

“This is excellent news for our broadband customers who have been extremely patient in waiting for the commercial arrangements to be finalised,” said Graham Hughes, Chief Executive of Sure Jersey.

“Sure has remained committed to securing fair and equitable access to Jersey’s fibre network because it is the only way to provide all islanders with genuine competition and choice in broadband services.”

Now that agreement has been reached, Sure will work with JT to ensure that all Sure customers are treated fairly and equitably as they migrate onto the fibre network.

“We will agree a migration plan and once that is in place, we will get in touch with all our broadband customers to let them know about the next steps for getting them onto the fibre network,” said Graham Hughes.
