Four of Blue Islands’ newest recruits have today joined its Cabin Crew teams based at Guernsey and Jersey airports further demonstrating growth that has seen the airline introduce a second ATR 72 aircraft to its fleet.

Lloyd Collins, Blue Islands’ Head of In-Flight Services said, “I’m delighted to welcome our new Cabin Crew to the Blue Islands team following the successful completion of their training programme that includes safety and emergency procedures, cabin service delivery, customer care and first aid.”

Rob Veron, Blue Islands CEO added “In just six months, the franchise partnership with Flybe has enabled an additional 60,000 seats to the Blue Islands network, due to Blue Islands’ ability to replace an ATR 42 with an ATR 72 aircraft, and the increased local employment opportunities that have ensued. Blue Islands has also added a new Guernsey – Cardiff service for summer 2017, further supporting inbound tourism and providing Guernsey residents with an exciting new direct destination, again only possible as a direct result of our Flybe franchise and the marketing reach it offers.”

Blue Islands’ accelerated expansion will continue in 2017, with an additional ATR 72 aircraft soon to replace an existing ATR 42, again leading to additional crew requirements.
