The World Aid Walk organisers are excited to announce that registrations are now open for the 2022 walk, which will be held in Guernsey and Herm on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May 2022.
Louise Smith, Chair of the World Aid Walk Committee said: “We’re excited to be holding the World Aid Walk again this year along the beautiful West coast paths of Guernsey and also in Herm. It’s a brilliant community event getting people out and being active, while raising much needed funds for our charities working to reduce poverty overseas”.
The 20km Guernsey walk will take place at 10:00, starting and finishing at Rovers AC at Port Soif, heading north along the coastal paths. The half distance route starts at the North end of Pembroke at 12:00, an ideal length of 10km for younger children and those who don’t want to walk the full 20km.
The organisers received some really positive feedback about the Guernsey route last year, so it will be staying the same for the 2022 event. Almost entirely on coastal paths, the route has been designed with safety and enjoyment in mind, particularly for families taking part with younger children.
The Herm walk is 8.5km and will start at Herm Harbour at 10:00, finishing at The Mermaid. Places are limited to 150 people in Herm, so people are encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment.
Registration fees will be £10 for adults in advance (£15 late entry on the day) and £5 for under 19s in advance (£8 on the day). For further information and to register, visit www.worldaidwalk.org.gg. The organisers can be contacted by email at worldaidwalk@gmail.com.
