Tonight the GSPCA hold their 12th Volunteer Induction of 2019 having inducted 133 volunteers through this year's events.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said, “We cannot achieve so much without the incredible volunteers and team we have here at the GSPCA.”
“We love to meet new volunteers and our next induction is tonight at 630pm.”
“You can come along no matter your age or interest and you can find out how you can get involved and help support and be involved with the work of the GSPCA.”
“We have inducted 133 volunteers through our inductions this year and many more from businesses, group days and placements.”
“We have inductions planned every month and also love to hear from businesses and groups that would like to help.”
You need to be at least 13 years old to help at the Shelter. If you are younger then you could still help. If you talk to your parents or guardians they may help you with fundraising for the Animal Shelter.
To get started in Volunteering at the GSPCA they hold Induction Evenings and in the Summer Afternoons and no matter your age, there is always a way you can help.
If you are looking to complete your work experience, Duke of Edinburgh or similar placement it is a requirement to attend one of these sessions to arrange a start date and complete the induction.
The GSPCA are especially looking for volunteers to help with their grounds and conservation work, driving their ambulance on the weekends and to help in their charity shop.
The Volunteer Induction Evenings planned for November and December 2019 will take place on the following days and times in the Event and Training Room at the GSPCA, but please do call 257261 closer to the date to confirm it is taking place. Inductions take about 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on numbers.
When you arrive to attend please follow the paw prints at the front of the reception which will take you to the upper floor where the sessions are held. It is ramped access and any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
