Also joining the commercial team as an account handler is Chris Dawe, 21. It is Mr Dawe’s first job after graduating from the University of the West of England with a degree in international business.

"Working for such a large company involves increased exposure to larger clients, which ultimately is every broker’s aim. I am hoping to gain invaluable experience and I am particularly looking forward to developing relationships with clients," he said.

Miss Silva, who studied at St Sampson’s Secondary School and The Grammar School, graduated from Portsmouth University in July 2013 with a degree in photography. In her new role, she will be responsible for motor, household and travel insurance.

‘I have always worked in customer service, which gave me a head start when I joined Rossborough. I’m looking forward to learning something completely different in an area that is new to me,’ said Miss Silva.

A move off the reception desk sees Carla Sawbridge enter personal lines as a broker. Entrepreneurial from a young age, Miss Sawbridge managed a small group of businesses, including a paper shop, from the age of 17. She also worked in cosmetics before joining Rossborough as a receptionist.

Miss Sawbridge is looking forward to having more responsibility, greater interaction with clients and selling.

"In my previous jobs I went through a lot of training to be able to sell and connect with people. I’m grateful for that training because it can be easily transferred into different types of business," she said.

More than two decades after joining Rossborough as an office junior, Linda Jones has been promoted to personal lines claims supervisor. Miss Jones, 40, joined the company in 1993 has and worked in accounts, personal lines and claims.

A keen autocross racer and current ladies’ summer and winter champion, Miss Jones said she was looking forward to the challenges of the new role.

"I think my experience with the company is an asset as I have worked across a range of roles and feel that I can help less experienced members of the team develop. At Rossborough we are very proud of the way we handle claims and I will help ensure this remains the case," she said.
