Leading offshore law firm Mourant Ozannes has two new Advocates of the Royal Court of Guernsey. Advocates Alastair Hargreaves and Rachel Guthrie were called to the Guernsey Bar on the 7 and 14 July respectively.
In order to qualify as a Guernsey Advocate qualified lawyers must complete a two stage process. They must undertake the Certificat d'Etudes Juridiques Francaises et Normandes at the University of Caen in France and they must also pass the Guernsey Bar Exams set by the Royal Court.

Rachel is an associate working in the firm's employment and litigation practice. She specialises in all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment law, advising both global and local companies. She moved to Guernsey and Mourant Ozannes in 2011 from London where she practiced as a solicitor at Allen & Overy LLP.
Alastair is a managing associate in Mourant Ozannes' Guernsey property practice and acts on a wide range of planning, commercial and residential property matters. Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Alastair was a real estate partner at Foot Anstey LLP.
