C5 Alliance in Guernsey has appointed Matt Knowles as a consultant in the Bespoke Development team of its business solutions division.
In this role, he will work within a team of 14 experts to develop and implement bespoke business solutions to meet the increasingly complex requirements of Channel Island businesses.
Mr Knowles began his career as an electronics apprentice for the Royal Navy where he worked for eight years maintaining on-board computer infrastructure. He then joined a specialist business solutions company in the Midlands as a consultant before working as an infrastructure engineer for Barclays, where he was fundamental in developing and testing the infrastructure for its internet banking offering.
Returning to Guernsey in 2006, Mr Knowles joined Credit Suisse where he continued as an infrastructure engineer until refocusing his expertise into software development in 2011.
Marc Lainé, managing director of C5 Alliance in Guernsey said that Mr Knowles’ unique skillset would be a huge asset to the team.
“Matt is set apart by his ability to solve sophisticated and unfamiliar problems with highly effective solutions. His interesting background has armed him with a vast knowledge of complex systems and great fault-finding skills.
“Since joining C5, he has already begun to show this talent, quickly adapting to high-level projects, taking on new challenges and fitting in well with the dynamic team,” he said.
Mr Knowles also recently attended a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Bootcamp, an intensive week-long course, and is now CRM-qualified having passed three examinations.
