Longue Hougue Recycling Facility Temporary Closure

MEDIA RELEASE: The views expressed in this article are those of the author and not Bailiwick Express, and the text is reproduced exactly as supplied to us

The resurfacing of Bulwer Avenue will require the closure of the Longue Hougue household recycling facility for the next two weekends as work is carried out on at the access junction.

The recycling facility will be closed from Thursday 20 September until Monday, and again the following Saturday and Sunday. However while it is shut, an alternative drop off facility is being provided at Mont Cuet for households to dispose of any general waste. That will available during what would be the normal opening hours of the Longue Hougue household recycling facility.

Vehicles delivering construction and demolition waste will still be able to access the Longue Hougue Land Reclamation site on Friday 21st September. However they will have to exit via an alternative route to the north of the site, which is not suitable for private vehicles and therefore requires the closure of the recycling facility.
Guernsey Waste apologies for any inconvenience to its customers, which is due to the essential road maintenance.
