At the GSPCA we always love to hear from those wanting to help us out and there are so many ways from volunteering to donating, supporting projects to attending our events.
On Wednesday 22nd November 4 staff members from Horsepool Consulting gave up a day in the office to help us out at the GSPCA and after the recent storm damage we are hugely grateful to all that have helped.
Tim Pellett GSPCA Training and Community Officer said “The staff from Horsepool were brilliant.”
“We were able to tidy the memorial garden, prune and refurb the hanging baskets before resetting in place after the storm damage.”
“Two of the team then helped on dogs with cleans and walks, whilst the other two socialised with cats and cut out decals for the glass doors.”
“They spent a great morning with us and already planning to come back again.”
Amy Allen Compliance Consultant from Horsepool Consulting Ltd said “I speak for all of Horsepool Consulting when I say that we had a great time when we came to volunteer for the morning, and it was great to meet Tim and the rest of the team.”
“We didn’t know that the GSPCA were so instrumental in getting people into work who may not have had the best opportunities to do so earlier, and we found this really interesting and are now even more invested in helping the GSPCA in the future.”
Horsepool Consulting Ltd also placed on their Linkedin page – ‘As part of our weekly "Wellness Wednesdays" we decided to do something different last week and took the morning to volunteer at the Guernsey Gspca.
We would like to thank Steve, Tim and the team at the GSPCA for hosting some of our team last week, where we helped tidy the memorial garden, walked some of the dogs and assisted in the cattery (cuddles with the cats were compulsory, obviously!)
We were interested to learn that the GSPCA don't "just" care for the animals of the island, but also help individuals in getting into employment who may not have had the best opportunities to earlier. We think this is really important for the community - well done Team GSPCA!’
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We are hugely grateful to all the team at Horsepool Consulting Ltd who were a huge help last month and already planning to come back again.”
“From grounds work to helping with the animals we are so thankful for their help.”
