Children at Brighter Futures in The Bridge have an exciting outdoor space to enjoy thanks to support from HR specialists HR Now.

Becky Hill and her team have been busy sprucing up the outdoor creche and play area, as part of their commitment to supporting local charities and community organisations.

As well as adding a splash of colour, the team created a new den area which enables a space for children to have somewhere to read or self-regulate if feeling overwhelmed.

Keyworker Kendall Lisle said parents have already remarked what a huge difference the transformation of the space has made. “We have enjoyed lots of storytelling and using our imagination to create our own stories in the den. A lot of families don’t have access to outdoor space, so it is an integral part of our groups that we have a warm and welcoming outdoor space for children and families to enjoy.

HR Now also helped fund and erect a new fence between the play area and the drop-off car park, which has helped Brighter Futures staff at the beginning of the day. “Before having the new fencing, children could see their parents leave, which could often make them unsettled. Having the carpark fenced off enables crèche staff to settle the children more quickly, which has created a more harmonious setting” said Kendall Lisle.

HR Now also created some fantastic outside storage boxes out of some old planter boxes that had seen better days. These have been painted in the Brighter Futures signature color orange with lids added to ensure equipment is left safe and freed up important space elsewhere

Becky Hill of HR Now said, “We have been working with Brighter Futures for over six years on all kinds of initiatives, but this is the biggest we have undertaken. We’re very proud of what we have achieved on this project and look forward to working with the charity further as part of our commitment to giving something back to our community. The whole HR Now team got behind the initiative and we enjoyed the whole experience.”
