Guernsey Water to introduce charges for some services

MEDIA RELEASE: The views expressed in this article are those of the author and not Bailiwick Express, and the text is reproduced exactly as supplied to us

From 1 January, Guernsey Water will be introducing charges for some supplementary services that have historically been carried out for free.

These services include provision of historical invoices, site visits for water supply and waste water connection queries, GPS surveys and advice on drainage and surface water issues and designs.

Director of Water Services, Steve Langlois, said: “Guernsey Water provides many different services, some of which are core services and others are discretionary.  To ensure that all our customers’ bills reflect the services they receive, we are introducing some new charges for these supplementary services that are not used by the vast majority of our customers. These new charges will not affect bills for our standard water and wastewater services”.

“As a business we are always looking to serve our customers efficiently, by charging for some of these supplementary services we reduce costs that would otherwise be reflected in all customer bills”.

A full list of service charges can be found at www.water.gg under ‘Customer information’.
