Tickets for this year’s Guernsey Literary Festival have been available to Festival members this week and will go on sale to the public from Saturday at 10am.
The Festival, one of the biggest annual arts events in the Channel Islands, runs from 23 April to 5 May and includes 80 events and a host of writers and speakers, mostly from the UK.
They include media presenters Louise Minchin and Sarah Beeny, celebrity chef Michel Roux, political and history writer Martin Sixsmith (Putin and the Return of History) and sportsmen and commentators Mike Brearley and Pat Nevin. They have recently written books which give a deeper insight into sometimes surprising and emotional aspects of life. These events are already selling well.
The Festival features expert writers covering politics, health and well-being, economics, history, science, comedy and poetry, writing workshops and events for local writers, as well as full education and community programmes and two major competitions.
The full programme is now available on the Festival website guernseyliteraryfestival.com, and will also be delivered to every island household next week, courtesy of Guernsey Post. Tickets can be purchased through the website, as can membership.
