Monkey Puzzle recently became the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation (PPBF)’s ‘Star of the Month’ winning a cuddly mascot and a ‘Sleep Well’ box, after buying a night for Aggie’s Burrow.
Every month, the PPBF draws a date at random from the nights bought for their compassionate housing in Southampton: Aggie’s Burrow, Isaac’s Pad and the newly acquired Frankie’s Den.
Friday 7th April was bought for Aggie’s Burrow by Caroline Blondel, Managing Director of Monkey Puzzle, on behalf of the children, and was the lucky ‘star’ when the PPBF drew their April dates.
Every year, Monkey Puzzle Montessori and Monkey Puzzle at Kings choose a charity to donate to, using the money raised from Nativity play ticket sales.
Teacher Christine Le Huray says: ‘Being a nursery and school, we have children who, over the years, have been helped by the PPBF, so it means a lot to many of our families. It’s such wonderful news that Caroline has won a lovely hamper. This was a well-deserving cause for our donation to go to.’
Jo Priaulx, co-founder of the PPBF explains: ‘Our ‘Star of the Month’ is supported by local businesses including the Day Salon and the Spa at St Pierre Park, and includes a Nighty the Owl plushie – our campaign mascot, and goodies to promote a good night’s sleep. It’s our way of giving back to those who have purchased nights to help with the ongoing running costs for the flats that allow families to rest, relax and recover during difficult times.’
‘Christine was one of my son’s first teachers so we are grateful to continue our relationship with such a wonderful team. We received photos of the children taking their Nighty the Owl on a puffin trail hunt, so he’s settling in well!’
You can Buy-A-Night for the PPBF from just £5 per month to help Guernsey families with premature babies or critically ill children needing treatment at Southampton Hospital for days, weeks, months or even longer at: www.ppbf.org.gg/buy-a-night. The charity will be announcing May’s ‘Star of the Month’ on 31st May via social media.
