Butterfield was pleased to help Meals on Wheels this Christmas by donating a box of biscuits to each of their clients.

Come rain, shine or even snow, Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver to over 90 homes across the island, six days a week, ensuring all who need it, receive a hot lunchtime meal.

Meals on Wheels co-ordinator Sandy Wilson said: “Our clients are mostly older people who for one reason or another are unable to cook a hot meal for themselves. Some of them have no relatives on island so holiday times can be especially lonely for them. I like to think that our volunteers provide a cheery smile and kind word and at Christmas we like to provide a little something extra. For some this will be the only gift they receive, so we are extremely grateful to Butterfield for providing this wonderfully sweet treat for all our clients.”

Donna Allan, Assistant Manager, Treasury Control at Butterfield said: “Butterfield is proud to continue its support of Meals on Wheels whose tireless volunteers provide an exceptional service all year round.

We hope these Christmas gifts help to spread a little festive cheer to all those who receive them.”
