The LTA British Padel Tour will head to Guernsey from 26th-28th May for the island’s first Grade One Event sponsored by SPF and NSM. The weekend will see tournaments across seven categories with entrants travelling to compete from Jersey, the UK and Spain.

Grade One events are the highest level of National competition and the prize fund across the Men’s and Ladies’ Open events is £3,500. The draw of significant prize money and rankings points means that 7 of the British Top 10 men are heading to the island along with 5 of the Top Ten Ladies.

In addition to the Open events, there will be Men’s and Ladies 40+ and Men’s 50+ tournaments as well as the return of our two popular junior categories - U18 and U14.

Pierre Blampied, Managing Director of SPF said “Together with NSM, SPF are delighted to be supporting this event and we are all looking forward to being able to compete against and watch some of the best padel players from the UK at our home club”.

Simon Graham, Managing Director of NSM added, “We continue to see padel on the island grow and go from strength to strength so being be involved in an event which really puts Guernsey on the UK padel map is very exciting.”

Entries remain open until 19th May but the field sizes are already large and still growing. The Club will be open all weekend and spectators are encouraged to head down to Longcamps to see the game played at the highest level.

Andy Privett, Manager of the Guernsey Padel Club said “We are privileged to be able to host and be awarded the sanction for one of the highest level padel events to be held in the UK this year. I would encourage everyone who is interested in, or plays the sport, to pop down over the weekend for a chance to watch some of the UK’s best players up close, as well as supporting our local players”
