Barclays in Guernsey celebrated the launch of its newly refurbished branch on the High Street with a day of activities, featuring the Barclays Premier League Trophy, the Barclayguards and music from pupils at the Guernsey Grammar School.

Barclays senior directors Ken Bradley, island director for Guernsey, Paul Savery, managing director offshore, personal and corporate banking and Shaun Phillips, managing director, head of offshore, personal and corporate banking were on hand to officially open the branch to clients and members of the Guernsey business community.

The following day, the branch was open to the public who could see more of what the new branch can offer in terms of digital banking and customer service, and of course to have their picture taken with the Barclays Premier League Trophy.

The branch team also held several raffles and sold Christmas cards to raise more than £1,000 for Action for Children.

Barclays head of local markets, Justine Gaudion, said: “The branch is an important part of how Barclays helps our customers. This redesign will give us more flexibility to speak to customers and assist them in a way that is more welcoming and more attuned to their needs than ever before”.

“It also gives us the space to make the most of our digital offering, with our cashier team using the latest technology to help customers get more from their bank.”
