After beginning his career in the music industry, Andrew Murray-Boscher has moved into insurance.

The 28-year-old former Elizabeth College pupil has joined Rossborough in Guernsey as a commercial account handler, advising clients on different types of insurance, from large-scale commercial fleet to individual marine policies.

"As a rookie to the insurance world, working at Rossborough, which has such good connections with a number of world class insurance companies, will hopefully lead me to become a successful and knowledgeable individual within the insurance sector," said Mr Murray-Boscher.

"My goal is to deliver excellent and professional service at all times. Most importantly I want all of my clients to receive the most competitive yet appropriate insurance policy tailored to their individual needs."

Ian Stewart, managing director at Rossborough Guernsey, said Mr Murray-Boscher had the right character to be successful:

"While Andrew hasn’t worked in insurance before, his experience in working with people and his drive to progress impressed me greatly. Our commercial team works with businesses of all sizes from all different sectors and so good communication skills and a commitment to find out all of the relevant information are key attributes."

Mr Murray-Boscher, who has a degree in digital music production from Southampton Solent University, began his career at an electronic music college in London, where he went on to become a senior sound technician. He taught students production and recording techniques, as well as helping to run the college’s online music school. He has also worked as an assistant administrator at a staging company.

"I generally care about the needs of a customer. In previous jobs I have worked closely with people from all walks of life, which has made me a friendly and understanding individual. I will always take pride in the job I do and the clients that I work for – their satisfaction and general happiness is a reward in itself," said Mr Murray-Boscher.

"I am looking forward to taking the relevant CII exams in the future so that I can broaden my growing knowledge of the insurance world. One day I hope to become a fully-qualified underwriter or loss adjuster, as the nature of both positions is very interesting to me."

An avid Arsenal fan, Mr Murray-Boscher still has a passion for music and can often be found DJing at weekends in local bars or nightclubs. He also enjoys fishing and cooking.
