This was the ninth year the GSPCA have taken part in this wonderful community event and we are hugely grateful to those at the home for the kind use of their front garden. 

Having won the out of Parish category last year, this year we won another prize thanks to the amazing work of the GSPCA team. 

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “The team at the GSPCA once again put in another amazing entry for Torteval Scarecrow Festival last month.” 

“We are hugely grateful to the organisors for allowing us to take part for the ninth year in the Torteval Scarecrow Festival with our GSPCA entry which we call ‘More Than Just Trapped Horses’ and to those for allowing us to use their front garden.” 

“Last year we won one of the amazing prizes with an incredible puffin scarecrow and we thank all that helped in 2023 for helping win the out of Parish category.” 

“This years entry represented our long 151 year history with a horse and cart to represent the early years when the GSPCA saw horses, donkeys and other animals work long hours with heavy loads and some with awful care.” 

“We were overjoyed when we found out the entry came third overall which we have a lovely rosette and a kind £25 prize to help towards our work.” 

Tim Pellet one of GSPCA Scarecrow team said “Once again the GSPCA team did a great job with our Torteval Scarecrow Festival entry.”
