Last night the GSPCA held the final animal first aid course of 2019.
The theme was Dog First Aid and the room was packed with 22 keen dog owners and interested individuals who spent the evening with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne who has over 22 years working in the field of animal rescue and with over 3000 animals through the doors every year at the GSPCA the team see cases of animal first aid on a daily basis here in Guernsey.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said, “We have been running dog and cat first aid courses for over five years and have trained over 270 participants to help save animals lives.”
“It was amazing to see such a packed room last night with three of the GSPCA team members in the room and 19 keen members of the community wanting to learn how to save a dog's life.”
“Casper our CPR dog was present who is a bit like an Annie and all were presented with a pack of goodies.”

All first aid courses are a minimum £20 donation and you must book your place by 17:00 before the course.
Within the sessions, you get the chance to learn about what to do if you were faced with an emergency situation with your dog or cat. All participants receive handouts, a few goodies and a certificate.
