Laurent Thibeault, an Associate in Walkers' Guernsey Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team, has been admitted as an Advocate by the island's Royal Court.
Mr Thibeault, who previously worked in the finance team of a Magic Circle firm's Paris and London offices before moving offshore, was admitted on Monday morning.
The specialist in trusts disputes and contentious insolvency matters joins partners Alison Ozanne and Sarah Brehaut (the Batonnier of the Guernsey Bar) as Advocates in the Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team.
Ms Ozanne, the head of Walkers' Guernsey IDR team, said Mr Thibeault had gone from summer student to Advocate over the course of two decades.
"Admission to the Guernsey Bar is a major accomplishment that demands commitment, dedication, a lot of hard work and skill, and we are all delighted by Laurent's achievement.
"This is the culmination of nearly twenty years of working together on and off from Laurent being a summer student to paralegal and now Advocate.
"It has been my pleasure to see Laurent grow into the accomplished litigator he is today."
