Unit Six gin - a new gin produced by the White Rock Brewery - has received recognition at the "Gin Guide" Gin Awards for 2018.
Judges in both the Non-London Dry and Contemporary Gin categories recognised the gin as "distinctly unique, refined and innovative".
It was also shortlisted in the "European Gin" category.
"Achieving the shortlist in three separate categories after only five months of production is a great achievement in itself and is a credit to the team; but to receive a special mention in both the Non-London Dry and Contemporary categories is the icing on the cake," MD of White Rock Brewery, Ross Gledhill, said.
"Unit Six gin is more than a product for the team, it’s a passion born out of years of study and attention to fine detail. Our highly unusual vacuum distillation and fractionation process allows us to extract the more pronounced yet delicate flavours from each of our six botanicals; Bergamot, Kaffir, Coriander, Pink Pepper, Juniper and Freesia”. A little geeky? Definitely, but this level of perfection has enabled us to produce an outstanding gin.”
This is not the first award Unit Six has been nominated for so far this year, as it is also in the runnings for the International Spirit and Wine Awards 2018 and the Gin Masters Awards 2018.
As a gin entirely produced on Guernsey, at the local White Rock brewery, it is one of 50 gins showcasing at the Telegraph Gin Experience in London in July.
