Co-Op's Travelmaker branch in Guernsey has been selected as the Top Travel Agency in the South West and Channel Islands region, as part of a power-list of the best agents in the British Isles by industry bible; the Travel Trade Gazette.

The Travelmaker branches across the Channel Islands have also been selected as one of the nation's top two Touring & Adventure holiday agencies.

The TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies list was revealed at a ceremony in Birmingham on Thursday night after an extensive judging process where agencies were rated by tour operators and other suppliers, and then assessed by travel trade journalists.

Head of Travel at Travelmaker, Carl Winn, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be named the South West’s Top Agency in the prestigious TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies. The accolade and feedback from the judges is a credit to the hard work and dedication of my colleagues who strive year on year to exceed expectations and deliver the best service possible for our clients. It is a huge achievement and extremely rewarding to be recognised for our commitment to serving customers and the local community."

More than 900 travel agencies and branches put themselves forward for consideration for TTG’s Top 50 Travel Agencies 2018 – in association with Kuoni - from which a shortlist of 95 finalists across 12 regional and 7 nationwide categories was devised.

The shortlisting stage was undertaken by a panel of 60 travel suppliers including airlines, tour operators and car hire providers, who rated hopeful agencies according to their business performance, customer service and innovation. To decide which shortlisted agencies made it into the Top 50 list, a TTG journalist visited or interviewed each shortlisted agency to carry out an assessment.

Judges said going the extra mile was second nature to the team.

"Holding regular events and raising money for local charities means this high street store is an integral part of the local community, and much-loved by its clients."
